Good Health Habits You Don’t Want To Ignore

There are some health habits that are essential to a fruitful life. Other health habits are beneficial but not necessary. While it is nearly impossible to determine which habits are necessary and which are beneficial, we tried our hardest, and we came up with a good start. What good health habits would you add to the necessary list? Which do you think are additionally beneficial?

Necessary Good Health Habits

  • Sleep regularly
  • Eat breakfast
  • Drink water all day
  • Exercise three times each week for at least 30 minutes each time
  • At least do some pushups and planks
  • Take the stairs
  • Stretch every day
  • Read
  • Smile
  • Meditate
  • Stop smoking
  • Cook at home - eliminate junk food
  • Eat healthy foods, especially the fruits, veggies, and whole grains

Beneficial Health Habits

  • Talk about problems
  • Spend time alone
  • Get soda out of your diet
  • Drink green tea
  • Stop drinking coffee (or at least stop the cream and sugar)
  • Skip the salt
  • Forget the sugar
  • Use olive oil
  • Use one piece of bread for a sandwich
  • Eat spicy foods
  • Make dark chocolate your indulgence (70 percent cacao makes it healthy)
  • Stop eating before you’re full
  • Track your weight
  • Sing
  • Do chores around the house and yard
  • Find solutions to your discomforts
  • Write a journal
  • Get outside
  • Walk barefoot
  • Sit up straight
  • Put away the phone before bed


Though these habits seem small, you will see a significant increase in your mood, alertness, and body by making the effort to accomplish these small tasks and improve your good health habits.
