Allow your mattress firmness preference and natural sleep position to determine the type of mattress that best suits your needs. Do you sleep on your side or your back? Do you sleep on your tummy and then on your side? Once you recognize your sleep style, mattress shopping will be a breeze. The Leesa Original mattress is designed to suit all sleep styles; back sleepers, side sleepers, stomach sleepers, and combi sleepers, which might reduce the sleep comfort and support for some sleepers needing a more bespoke mattress tailored to their specific sleep needs. However, the Nolah Original 10 is designed with side sleepers in mind. One-size does not fit all, choosing a mattress that is tailored to your individual sleep needs ensures much greater comfort and improved sleep health than an ‘off-the-rack’ mattress.
With consumers becoming more ethically minded when shopping, buying American made products is an act of patriotism. Supporting local businesses ensures a healthy local economy, therefore, buying American made salutes your friends, neighbors and local businesses. The Leesa Original mattress is made in the U.S.A. The Nolah Original 10 is 100% American made. All the materials used in their mattresses, foam, and cover are 100% made and assembled in the USA.

The Leesa Original is 3-layer memory foam, polyfoam, and LSA200 foam mattress that stands 10 inches tall. It is wrapped in a polyester cover that can be spot cleaned. LSA200 foam is less dense and more bouncy than memory foam so motion transfer could be an issue. The 2 inches of memory foam beneath the LSA200 foam will trap body heat, therefore, it will not give a cooling sleep in the same way AirFoam™ can or be as supportive because memory foam contain viscoelastic chemicals. The Nolah Original 10 is made of an innovative new AirFoam™. This pneumatic (air-filled) foam is made under high pressure and then crushed to blast billions of microscopic air pockets inside the foam, hence the name, AirFoam™. The billions of tiny air pockets act as individual shock absorbers creating a truly personalized sleep comfort. The Original 10 sleeps cooler than memory/polyfoam because it’s temperature neutral – meaning it does not contain the heat-trapping viscoelastic memory foam chemicals used in Leesa’s middle support layer. The Nolah Original 10 stands 10 inches tall and is constructed in 3 layers with breathable AirFoam™ and a natural viscose zip-off cover. The mattress base features 7 inches of breathable high-density foam, the middle layer has 1 inch of durable support foam, and the 2-inch top layer is made of supporting and cooling AirFoam™ that offers more pressure relief than memory foam.

The firmness of your new mattress is dependent on the materials used in its construction. The Leesa Original mattress is a layered mix of conventional polyfoam, memory foam, and LSA200 cooling foam. Memory foam and polyfoam are widely known to retain heat and keep it on the surface of the mattress. This results in an uncomfortable sleep because memory foam and polyfoam mattresses are not supportive or breathable. The main customer complaint being that memory foam and polyfoam mattresses feel like sleeping on quicksand. Nolah AirFoam™ is different because it’s designed and constructed using modern sleep science and technology. This innovative new material breathes with you and supports the back, hips, and shoulders in a supportive hug. Not only that but AirFoam™ guarantees a perfect medium firmness for the duration of its lifespan.

Your new mattress should suit your individual sleep needs. The Leesa Original mattress is designed for every type of sleeper; back, side, stomach, and combi sleepers. Since all sleepers have different comfort needs, choosing a mattress like Leesa that is made for everyone may reduce the comfort for some sleepers with a more specific need for comfort. Nolah AirFoam™ mattresses are made specifically for side sleepers because it’s designed to support not just every muscle but the sensitive hip and shoulder areas in one unanimous layer of AirFoam™. Although Nolah provides excellent support and comfort for all sleepers, it's extremely well-suited for side sleepers where the hips and shoulders are the most vulnerable areas, therefore, it also requires a special type of supportive mattress designed especially for side sleepers.
Check out Nolah’s Guide to Sleeping Positions and Guide to Side Sleeping.
The Nolah Original 10 mattress provides 4 times greater pressure relief than memory foam. Muscles and joints receive far greater support which benefits your quality of sleep and could also benefit your health. Nolah conducted heat-mapping tests to prove this which can be found on their website.
The Nolah Original 10 is made from a breathable AirFoam™ that is a modern material made without the heat-trapping viscoelastic memory foam chemicals used in the Leesa Original mattress. The breathable AirFoam™ does not absorb or store heat and ensure a cooling sleep experience for the duration of the mattress lifespan.
Nolah’s Original 10 proved to be a 300% more durable than high-priced memory foam mattresses and 26 times more durable than their cheaper counterparts. Throughout a 100,000 cycles durability test, Nolah AirFoam™ loses a mere 0.03 of an inch.
The Leesa Original mattress and Nolah Original 10 mattress are both odorless and CertiPUR-US® certified. Although when removed from the box, allow them to breathe for a few minutes to off-gas. This is perfectly harmless, it simply means to briefly air-out after being released from the air-tight box. The new mattress smell ought to dissipate within 24-hours.
Both Leesa and Nolah are respected mattress providers and you should expect a high level of customer care from each company.
Mattress durability and price are two major concerns for anyone shopping for a new mattress. Memory foam and polyfoam mattresses are not as durable as AirFoam™ and Nolah’s mattresses run cheaper than Leesa’s. Nolah also gives you two free pillows with every purchase of a mattress.
The Leesa Original mattress contains memory foam and designed for every type of sleeper. The Nolah Original 10 mattress is 100% free from memory foam and designed to offer extraordinary support and comfort for side sleepers. Therefore, offering a more bespoke mattress.
