It’s almost time to sit down with loved ones to enjoy a delectable meal. The air is heavy with thanks and laughter as you share your gratitude for another glorious year. All your running around and stressful days are but a memory. You’re where you ought to be, enjoying the company of friends and family. Having a stress free Thanksgiving is possible with these gentle reminders, one week before the big day.
Is There Enough Bedding?
You probably think you have enough bed sheets and blankets but what if a loved one wants to crash on your couch? Be prepared with a few extra bed sheets, blankets, towels, and pillows. Don’t forget about yourself, put clean sheets and blankets on your bed so it’s nice and fresh for your Thanksgiving snooze. Put some scented candles by the bed for some extra self-indulgence, you’ve earned it.
Decorations and Entertainment, Yay!
How is your centerpiece looking? Is your porch or doorway looking festive? You don’t need to spend a lot of money on decorations. Branches, pine cones, leaves, even nuts can look cute on the table. You might attract a few squirrels too, even better! Get the karaoke machine warmed up or plan a movie marathon. Jigsaw puzzles are also a good option to keep people entertained. Don’t forget to have some cozy, fluffy blankets for everyone to snuggle under while chilling out.
Double-check your food supply, it’s always handy to have extra staples; milk, bread, eggs, flour, etc. Do you have enough crockery, pots, and pans? Your cooker is going to be running on overdrive, make sure you have plenty of gas if needed. Make ice, if you’ve just got a couple of trays, throw the cubes in a large ziplock bag in the freezer and start a new tray. You’ll need plenty of those ziplock bags for the leftovers too.
you want a cocktail in your guest's hand before they’ve even taken their coat off!
Stock that bar, you want a cocktail in your guest's hand before they’ve even taken their coat off! Make a big bowl of punch the day before or on the day if you’ve no space in the fridge.

- ½ liter apple juice
- 1.5-liter ginger ale

There's always going to be one or two things you forget this Thanksgiving. You may forget the roasting tin, dishwasher tablets, or your party outfit from the dry cleaners. Experience gratitude this Thanksgiving by surrounding yourself with people you love, eating well, staying up late and being grateful for fun. You'll be grateful for sleep later on!
